An artificial intelligence-backed ultrasound technology that could help detect breast cancer much earlier is under development at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.

It uses ultrasound technology, as opposed to mammography, to find small, potentially cancerous tumors, down to around the two-millimeter size.
